The following units are included in this course:
UV20453 Client care and communication in beauty-related industries
UV20483 Follow health and safety practice in the salon
UV20398 Provide facial skin care
The course runs over 3 full days, followed by a final 1/2 day for assessment and exam
After the course, learners will need to compile a portfolio of evidence, complete case studies and assignments/workbooks
Learners will need to bring their evidence to a final 1/2 day session during which they will undertake a practical assessment and 3 final external exam papers
The cost is £350 which includes face-to-face training, manual, email support and assessment
Additional costs - £56 VTCT fee (2021-2022)
Learners should already have a level 3 body massage, aromatherapy or reflexology qualification, together with level 3 A&P
Learners are expected to wear salon uniform, minimal makeup, no nail polish or jewellery and hair should be tied back and off the face. If learners do not own a salon uniform, they may wear black trousers, flat closed-in black shoes, black socks and a plain black t-shirt or polo shirt
The course covers health, safety and hygiene, communication skills, consultations, preparation for treatment, professionalism, benefits and effects of treatment, contra indications, treatment procedure including the use of cleansers, toners, exfoliators, comedone extraction, masks, skin warming, facial massage and moisturisers
